untold history

This book had some smashing information especially the black confederates. It'south non virtually race equally many today deem it to exist. Information technology's role of this country history! You need to become into this book as a "dry out sponge" and have in history you may not know. A very cracking listen.

Say what you desire, Johnson does a great task

What did you beloved best near The Politically Incorrect Guide to the South (and Why it Will Rise Again)?

I was pleased to see some very positive reviews from the N East on this title, and very disappointed to see the negative review from my home state of SC (most likely from a W.J. Greenbacks fan). Stated, I purchased the book and enjoyed the first affiliate immensely. Having grown up in the civilisation, Johnson nailed it downwardly solid in that affiliate. Also, having to have spent a fair corporeality of time in NY and NJ, he also pegged the shared view that many of us who accept had to practise business at that place, share. Regardless of where you at from in the world, this is nifty book for understanding why true Southerners recollect the way they practice. Deo Vindice forever and God salve the South!

What other book might you compare The Politically Incorrect Guide to the S (and Why information technology Volition Ascent Again) to and why?

The Due south Was Correct and some of the short essays from Dr. Hill's library on Golden Circle civilisation.

Which character – as performed by Dianna Dorman – was your favorite?

She's expert - a niggling metered, but easy to mind to and I enjoy her song style.

If y'all were to make a picture of this book, what would the tag line exist?

"The Lost Cause - that once was Lost, but now is Found"

Any additional comments?

Bright book - excellent

Tubby Bearded Guy reference earned an extra star

I have to exist careful when writing this review because Clint Johnson was a friend and classmate of mine at the University of Florida. As a fan of mystery/thrillers I institute this book a little hard to get through at times. But I did learn some interesting stuff. I didn't know Lincoln tried to recolonize slaves to other countries later on the state of war. I didn't know the Emancipation Annunciation primarily freed slaves merely in Confederate States. I learned I can at present refer to Clint every bit a TBG (Tubby Disguised Guy) because he participates in Civil State of war reenactments. At times the volume seemed somewhat anecdotal but knowing how tediously Clint researches his material I feel confident that information technology is fact based. I got somewhat of an eerie feeling knowing that the ultra left has kicked upwardly its attempt to rewrite history since this volume was written a decade ago. Clint was very prescient in having a feel of what was to come in this area. I could have done without the two or three seemingly interminable listings of colleges and universities that were ranked highly and located in the South. Lists generally exercise not were well in audio books. I too grew a bit weary of hearing nearly books and movies I'm not supposed to read or watch without really knowing why. Presumably they bandage the South in a more positive light that you might expect (or the Northward in a less positive one). If I was a Southern history vitrify, this book would have generated five stars. One final caution. A book you're not supposed to read: "The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Southward (and Why information technology Will Rise Again), written by Clint Johnson, release date:01-11-07, Publisher: Blackstone Sound, Inc.

big lie lives on.

lamentable. very lamentable. if a poor reader believes this hogwash... one is to believe that the old south was fabricated america. that the old south was a pleasant time and identify. nevermind slaves and the evil done. nevermind that southern conferate states constitutions stated slavery forever. the south could have ended slavery only chose to battle, dice for it. they got what they deserved as God stood with the northward, not with the southward.

Could not go far pass the first two chapter

I'one thousand non a fan how the volume starts out. I thought it would have more facts rather opinions on why the southward is so great. I alive in the south I love the southward and I agree that information technology is great. Withal, statements should accept more facts to support them. Similar I said I did non arrive laissez passer the first two capacity. So many it gets better just not for me.

I'm from the north

I'm from the due north and growing upwardly learning about slavery in Massachusetts was a riot and I knew it wasn't right and so I did a petty searching and decided to look at another point of view and got a lot of answers that were for the virtually part very similiar to what I thought. Smashing Book!
